Asylum Lifetime & Sherm Larock – Political Asylum (2011)

Hailing from CT, Asylum Lifetime (MC) & Sherm Larock (Producer) have been putting in work in the north-eastern hip hop scene for the past eight years. With their newest release, “Political Asylum”, the duo plan to make noise in the hip hop world and solidify themselves as a force to be reckoned with. This 14 track banger is produced by Sherm Larock with one credit to Colombeyond of “Blac Sabbath” fame. The album features fellow CT heavyweight & *UE* bredrin, Blacastan, on two tracks, as well as Blak Flag and Correct 1. Sonically, the music is a reflection of their influences, from the likes of Wu-tang, Mobb Deep, Gang Starr as well as the golden era of hip hop, to the more recent explosion of indie lyricists and beatmakers. In the tradition of many other emcee/producer duo’s such as Gang Starr, the Beatnuts, EPMD, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, etc., Asylum and Sherm carry the torch from that era.

This totally slipped through my radar!, Don’t sleep on this shit!
