poor ghost makes me really sad 🙁

but honestly, ghost is the only good artist left of the wu. the others relesing straight garbage for years now but he still puts out quality releases.
    i would buy his release.
    but that 8diagrams i wouldn’t buy for 10 cent…

  2. 2. Krooked1 Said:

that 8 diagrams was a major disappointment

this guy’s getting to be a regular complainer. what a bitch.

  4. 4. shane Said:

it’s funny how rappers who sound so tough on records, often sound like whiny pussies when we don’t buy their shit. it would have been funnier if he pulled a gun out during the interview and said, “i’m gonna pop you in the motherfuckin head if i find out you dl my shit.” at least that would be gangsta

  5. 5. Steven Said:

people download your shit, boo fuckin hoo, make a cd thats worthy of people to buy and they will buy it.

and stop bitching ghostface, makes you seem like a pussy, I feel like I need to send him a box of tissues.

  6. 6. 734 Said:

wow what the fuck is wrong with you guys. Its fucking ghostface. No one should front on ghost. Why dont you all make an album that no one buys, lose money and get discouraged. Its amazing he still puts out work.

  7. 7. Krooked1 Said:

i liked ghosts album enough to buy it but i agree with what steven said.

people download your shit, boo fuckin hoo, make a cd thats worthy of people to buy and they will buy it.

  8. 8. chrisgargano Said:

Ghostface is one hundred percent right.

I can understand downloading to hear an album once, and if I like it I buy it.

Why should he continue to put hard work in making an album only to have poor record sales due to bootlegging.

People have to realize that if everyone continues downloading and bootlegging without ever purchasing albums from your favorite artist, the whole industry will be non existent in a few years.

all he is saying is that if you are a true fan, please buy his album to show support and I agree 100%

  9. 9. Krooked1 Said:

if u like what u hear u buy it

  10. 10. deap Said:

@ 734: is that you Ghostface??? or are you just a “face” nut-rider? I dont care who are you, just because you may have ripped $hit once, does not automatically mean no matter what you do i have to respect and like. I loved Wu, but lately they put out trash i wouldnt buy.

Are you one of those jacka$$es thats making 2pac 10 years after “death” a top 10 billboard CD in 2007??? “omg its 2pac guys, you should worship him and give him all your money no matter what!”

nobody gets a free pass just because they WERE dope…

  11. 11. deap Said:

@chrisgargano: technically we are just file sharing. bootlegging would mean we were ripping and selling these cds on the streets. I have never once bootlegged a CD. I agree that bootleggers that sell CDs on the streets is bad. However, what your failing to realize is that if someone downloads a CD and doesn’t buy it, odds are they were never going to buy it anyway. I purchase every single CD that i enjoy, I cant speak for the rest.

  12. 12. Krooked1 Said:

dude has made the same album 3 times

  13. 13. Krooked1 Said:

and i dont even understand what he says most of the time

  14. 14. geo Said:

I still feel like a moron for buying ‘Bulletproof Wallets’

I wonder if I brought that to the show if we could get Goosed Out or whatever whatevers…

Woulda had more sales if you hadn’t alienated the hardcore wu fans who would buy whatever whatevers when you dissed rza… not that I count myself among them… (I still feel like a moron for buying ‘The W’

i can’t wait for the music industry to die. it’s definitely on it’s deathbed, and this is a time to rejoice. think of the possibilities! artists can make and distribute music without capital, and get every cent when they tour and sell merch. trust me, it’s gonna be dope. systems of control like labels and radio programmers will be revealed to be dinosaurs that we will shed like dead skin.

  16. 16. StathiS Said:

I am getting sick of hearing the “make a cd thats worthy of people to buy and they will buy it.” excuse. So, you all guys knew beforehand that Big Doe Rehab wouldn’t be what u expected that’s why you dled it??? It is truth that there are 1000s artists out there and you can’t buy every cd you find but don’t find lame excuses. If you don’t like something why do you even download it?

  17. 17. Pooch Said:

First off, if you gave up on Ghostface after Bulletproof Wallets, check out Fishscale. Dude puts out quality hip hop.

As far as Mr. Me Too’s comment about looking forward to the industry dying. How many of the pioneers in the history of hip hop would have been able to produce the albums that they did without some label fronting them the money. Many classic albums wouldn’t have been seen. A lot of the artists that are revered, come from low budget environments. I am not saying all, but in addition, if you had to pay out 10k, 20k, 30k or more to record, pay for production, master, and then promote, would you? Add in the time that it took. Especially if you were only going to break even or maybe not. The record industry is still a necessary evil that is changing. They have to find a way to make money so that there is incentive to still promote good talent (definition of “Good” is judgemental).

As far as the arguement of bootlegging, if the download gives someone an excuse not to buy it, keeping money out of the hands of the people who created it, then yes it is a bootleg. Simple and plain, it is just in a easier and digital format.

I may partake in it, as a lot of us do. But don’t blast Ghostface and call him a bitch because he is pleading with you to go and support him if you like his CD. This is his livelyhood. This is what feeds his family and puts a roof over his head. That statement was him fighting for his ability to make a living. Don’t download his album, and then kick him in the nuts and say “F#$k You.”

    Dear Ghostface,

How are you gonna make an album called big doe rehab, implying that you got so much money that you need to go to REHAB for it, then bitch when people don’t pay for your shit?

I dont own a smoking jacket, or a benz. I rock a hoody in my honda. I paid to see you and your show sucked, you sounded drunk and your hype men were awful. I bought fishscale and more fish, big doe got downloaded.

It’s simple: make a better cd (read not a replica of the last two albums you dropped), do a better live show, and maybe people will be more willing to buy your shit.

That said, I’d still smoke one with you.

    Sincerely yours,
    ryan

  19. 19. chrisgargano Said:

to deap: i have a similar view towards your opinion.
I believe that there is nothing wrong (ethically) for someone to download LP to simply listen to an album, solely for the purposes of determining whether or not to purchase the album.

Obviously, this theory should absolutely apply if we are talking only about our favorite artists.

To Me, Music is one of the major enjoyments in life. People spend money on anything. $7.75 for a pack of cigarettes in NY. mcdonalds lunch $7-9 bucks.

Why wouldn’t you want to pay (and support) for a new Lp by your favorite hip hop artist?

put yourself in the artists shoes.

    This is crippling record sales.

It is also ruining moral and devotion of many artist. Why put in work only have people “steal” your product

Would you, as an artist, put all of your time, effort and heart into the creation of a new album only to have the majority of it obtained either by bootlegging or internet web downloading?

This is going to ruin the music industry. unless it can find a solution

i also stronly agree with 734’s message

And i agree with points that Pooch brought up.
