Sean “SeanDammit” Kantrowitz is your favorite artist’s favorite fan-turned-artist. With the release of his debut solo EP ‘Smart Phone Dumb Talk,’ the Orlando, FL-based producer/multi-instrumentalist has crafted the stimulating score to the dystopian sci-fi film Hollywood is scared to make, channeling the cinematic detail of rjd2, the hip hop-informed grit of El-P, and the riff-heavy buoyancy of Ratatat. Dirty drumbreaks serve as the foundation for angular guitar riffs on tracks like “The Last Saturday Night,” while songs like “(Blow!)” and “When They Creep Into the Night” are characterized by sinewy synths and dramatic dynamic changes that are at once exhilarating and jarring. Smart Phone Dumb Talk is the ideal soundtrack for your Friday night – whether that entails an evening engulfed in headphones, a night spent cruising through the concrete jungle, or the last 20 minutes of your life before driving full-speed into a volcano. SeanDammit has got you covered. While ‘Smart Phone Dumb Talk’ marks the first album released under the SeanDammit moniker, it is far from the first project that he has had his hands in. A long-time collaborator of BK hip hop producer Optiks, SeanDammit has co-produced or contributed to songs for Kap Kallous, Psalm One, Jon Connor, as well as songs by IMAKEMADBEATS, MidaZ The BEAST, and Solillaquists Of Sound, as well as co-writing/co-producing the entirety of his previous group, In Curses.
