Queen’s (New York) own Verse Essential returns with a follow up to his well received ‘Ingenious’ album with something for the Hip-Hop purist ‘Freedom Is Mine’, having worked previously with underground mainstays such as Access Immortal, Jukstapose, Sadat X, Godilla, as well as sharing stages with the likes of Naughty By Nature, Vinnie Paz and Ill Bill. Verse Essential is bringing heads some of that authentic, nonconformist hip hop, something the genre has been severely lacking of late. ‘Freedom Is Mine’ boasts a solid feature/production list, with collaborations with lyricists like Detroit’s Marv Won, Access Immortal, Complex and more. Along with some well crafted production from accomplished Hip Hop producers such as DJ Spinna, Marley Marl, Todd Sykes, Kiza, Kid Called Quest to name a few.
