Brassmunk-Dark sunrise-2003

Close to 5 years ago, while listening to the legendary DJ Mastermind show on the now defunct Energy 108, I heard a teaser of a new rap group called Brassmunk about to make their mark on the hip hop scene. The song was called “one, 2” and right then I knew I had to hear more from this group, and soon. Time passed and their debut track just gained more and more popularity. After contacting the group I learned that the thing stopping them from bringing out more was the politics surrounding “the game.” Finally, all their tracks on one cd, even a non fan of hip hop can appreciate. This is an important album for hip hop, considering it’s a great piece of work without the bling bling or violent lyrics flooding the scene. Do your self a favour and grab it.
